Diesel Truck Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Maintain heavy duty trucks and trailers by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
- Identify worn and damaged parts
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
- Installs component and part upgrades
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
- Maintain good vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
- Checks tire pressure and tread depth on all trucks and trailers daily
Diesel Truck Mechanic Skills/Qualifications:
- Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) on trucks and trailers including changing oil, tires, brakes, lights, filtersUpdate
- Able to complete DOT inspection
- Must have own diesel mechanic tools-company does NOT provide all tools
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
