Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within our medical facility. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, streamline patient interactions, and support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about assisting others in a fast-paced medical setting. Candidates must have at least one year of hands-on EPIC experience obtained within the last five years.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule appointments using patient management software and coordinate follow-up visits
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with health insurance inquiries
- Collect and update patient demographic and medical information accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, addressing patient questions and directing calls appropriately
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with health regulation policies
- Support medical staff with administrative tasks such as document preparation, data entry, and filing
- Assist patients with understanding medical terminology and navigating healthcare processes
- Ensure compliance with health regulation policies related to patient privacy and data security
Skills
- Proven experience working in a medical office,hospital or dental office environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication
- Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA guidelines for maintaining patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance processing
- Experience using patient management software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), or EHR systems for managing electronic health records
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and client interactions
- Understanding of health insurance processes and terminology to assist patients accurately
- Typing speed and accuracy to handle data entry efficiently
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to general healthcare or dental practices
