Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safe and accurate delivery of treatments.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges or disabilities.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and assist in updating care plans regularly.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and hospice support enhances your ability to provide empathetic care.
- Hands-on experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures such as CPR and first aid is essential.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
- Experience in creating or following personalized care plans while maintaining strict confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines is important.
