Study Hall Sports Pub is a community-focused sports bar and restaurant located on the main street of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The pub offers family-friendly dining during the day and a lively bar environment for sporting events, live music, and special gatherings. Guests can choose from three unique seating areas, including a downstairs bar, a large outdoor patio, and an indoor dining space. The venue features a game room with arcade machines, foosball, air hockey, and plans to add slot machines, and is preparing to become a certified DoorDash restaurant to expand its service options.
Duties:
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, providing a positive first impression.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system TouchBistro, ensuring all special requests and allergens are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently while handling cash accurately and balancing receipts at shift end.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations through bussing and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly to uphold high guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred
- Ability to adapt to rotating specials
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing tabs efficiently.
- Culinary experience or food industry background is advantageous; familiarity with food safety standards is required.
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service enhances guest interactions.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in serving and sanitation practices.
