American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2+ years of experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment.
-
Work on a Med/Surg Tele unit with a primarily Med/Surg patient population
-
Unit is telemetry-capable with remote monitoring
-
Patient ratios of 1:5-6
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
-
Float to any Cone Health campus as needed for patient care
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of application
-
BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Telemetry/remote monitoring experience required
-
Charge RN experience preferred
-
Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
-
Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
-
Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
-
Experience with IV insulin protocols, PCA, heparin, and insulin administration
-
Must pass a mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
-
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Deliver care using rapid response and code team protocols as needed
-
Manage surgical drains, colostomy/ileostomy care, and feeding tube management
-
Support pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure patient care
-
