Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, Gooseneck trucks, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. This role involves delivering freight efficiently across designated routes while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, route driving, and load & unload operations are encouraged to apply. A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and experience with manual transmission are required to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records
- Ensure cargo is secured properly during transit to prevent damage or accidents
- Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and company policies
- Communicate effectively with vendors, store manager and customers regarding delivery status or issues encountered during routes.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck operated (manual transmission experience preferred)
- Proven experience in truck driving, including freight delivery and route driving
- Experience operating specialized vehicles such as trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely
- Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and transportation regulations
- Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past three years
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently on assigned routes
