Job Summary
As a Yard Salesman, you will be the first point of contact for customers in our lumber yard. You’ll help customers find the right materials, load and organize product, and ensure orders are accurate and delivered on time. This position requires someone who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with people, and being part of a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with product selection in the yard and warehouse.
- Pull, stage, and load materials for customer pickup and delivery.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely (training provided if necessary).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard.
- Work closely with contractors and retail customers to ensure orders are correct.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to management.
- Provide excellent customer service while handling questions, concerns, or returns.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in lumber, building materials, or customer service preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Forklift experience a plus (we provide training/certification if needed).
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Schedule
Part time and full time available. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Base Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
