IVIG Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) Ideal Choice Home Health | Los Angeles Area
Ideal Choice Home Health is seeking an experienced IVIG Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered infusion care in patients' homes throughout the Los Angeles area.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced infusion nurse who values clinical autonomy, schedule flexibility, and meaningful one-on-one patient care. The RN will work independently while maintaining close communication with the Ideal Choice Home Health clinical and operations teams.

Position Summary
The IVIG Infusion RN will provide skilled nursing services to patients receiving IVIG and other specialty infusion therapies in the home setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, IV access, medication administration, monitoring for infusion reactions, patient education, and complete clinical documentation.
The successful candidate will have strong infusion experience, excellent peripheral IV skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a patient's home.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-infusion assessments and confirm patient readiness for treatment.
- Establish and maintain peripheral IV access safely and effectively.
- Administer IVIG and other prescribed specialty infusion therapies according to physician orders, medication protocols, and applicable standards of care.
- Calculate and verify weight-based medication dosing as required.
- Monitor vital signs and patient response throughout the infusion.
- Recognize, assess, and appropriately respond to adverse reactions and infusion-related complications.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding their therapy, medication, potential side effects, and treatment plan.
- Provide compassionate, individualized care while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
- Communicate promptly with physicians, pharmacies, the Ideal Choice clinical team, and other members of the care team regarding patient status or concerns.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of all visits and infusion services in the agency's electronic medical record and other required systems.
- Maintain appropriate medication and supply management and communicate supply needs or concerns.
- Follow all applicable physician orders, agency policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Travel to patient homes throughout the assigned service area.
- Maintain professional communication and conduct during all patient and team interactions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current, active, and unrestricted California RN license.
- Minimum 2–3 years of infusion nursing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience administering IVIG and/or specialty biologic therapies.
- Strong peripheral IV insertion and infusion skills.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to independently assess patients and manage infusion therapy in a home environment.
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
- Ability to accurately document clinical services electronically.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes throughout the Los Angeles area.
- Successful TB screening or documentation of TB screening within the previous 12 months.
- Successful completion of required credentialing and background screening.
Preferred:
- ACLS or CRNI certification.
- Experience with home infusion.
- Experience with IVIG, biologics, immunoglobulin therapy, or other specialty medications.
- Spanish-speaking ability.
