Job Description
Join our team as an Inspection Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and preventing gas leaks by conducting periodic facility inspections. This entry-level position requires a valid driver's license and a professional demeanor as you will be entering customers' homes.
Responsibilities

Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters for corrosion and/or damage.

Complete all necessary documentation.

Document inspection findings in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Support the successful completion of regulatory audits and inspections.

Conduct integrity surveys, including direct assessments and close interval surveys.

Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits.
Essential Skills

Valid driver's license.

Professional demeanor and good communication skills.

Mechanical ability with experience in fields such as cable techs, HVAC, piping, or auto mechanics is a plus.

Ability to walk, climb stairs, and ladders during an 8-hour workday in various weather conditions.

Customer service orientation and professionalism.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

1+ year of driving experience.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills.

Intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment
This is a 100% field-based position primarily within the Brooklyn and Queens area. Expect to travel within the utility territory, attending tailboard meetings at warehouse locations. Operations hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with optional Saturday shifts. Training includes OSHA orientation and in-class sessions, followed by certification testing and job shadowing. Equipment provided includes a simple tool set, safety gear, and a tablet for daily route management.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
