Hiring range is negotiable between $76,316 and $99,195 depending on a candidate's qualifications and experience.
Performs professional and technical work developing, implementing and supporting an automated information system for the City. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Ensures proper installation and configuration of MSSQL and Oracle servers and databases. Work involves writing scripts and creating SQL queries for MSSQL and Oracle. Install and maintain the performance of database servers.

Serves as enterprise application administrator.

Backup the disaster recovery administrator.

Develop processes for optimizing database security.

Set and maintain database standards.
-
Manage database access.
-
Performance tuning of database systems.
-
Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
-
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
-
Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
-
Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

Create automation for repeating database tasks.
-
Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software problems for the servers, network printers, PCs varying in make, model, operating systems, servers and software packages, including various types of equipment at other sites.

Maintains daily activity logs in ticketing system; provides detailed documentation of all tickets.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Physical Science or related discipline.

Five (5) years of experience in server/systems support and/or computer programming; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:-
Possession of an MCSA Certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.-
Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.

Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, operate a computer, and do extensive reading.

Must be able to perform the basic life operational support functions of stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
