Overview
We’re seeking an energetic, reliable Part-Time STEM Instructor to teach engaging, hands-on STEM classes for children ages 5–14. This role is primarily weekday evenings (4:00 PM–7:00 PM) with occasional Saturday mornings. Instructors lead fun, structured learning experiences in areas such as coding, robotics, engineering design, circuits, and applied science—while also supporting the development and improvement of curriculum as needed.
Duties:
Instruction & Classroom Leadership
- Lead STEM classes for students ages 5–14, delivering lessons that are engaging, safe, and age-appropriate
- Facilitate hands-on building, experimentation, and guided projects (with clear modeling and step-by-step support)
- Differentiate instruction to meet varying skill levels and learning needs
- Maintain a positive classroom culture that encourages curiosity, teamwork, and perseverance
- Track attendance and provide basic learner feedback/progress notes when requested
Curriculum Support & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in developing, refining, and testing new lessons and curriculum activities
- Provide feedback on lesson pacing, clarity, and student engagement
- Help organize materials, kits, and classroom setup/cleanup to support smooth instruction
Professionalism & Communication
- Communicate professionally with families and staff (as needed) regarding class expectations and student experience
- Follow policies related to safety, behavior, child supervision, and equipment use
- Represent the company with a friendly, supportive, kid-centered approach
Experience
- Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, camp counseling, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a group confidently
- Dependable availability for weekday evenings and occasional Saturdays
- Comfort facilitating hands-on learning environments (messy is okay—unsafe is not)
- Ability to lift and move classroom supplies/kits as needed and stand for extended periods
- Experience personally or professionally with STEM (desired, not required).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
