American Traveler is hiring a Postpartum RN for a night shift assignment requiring 1 year of Mother Baby couplet care experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Hospital-based Postpartum/Mother Baby unit
-
Night shift schedule with every other weekend required
-
12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
-
Holiday coverage required as needed
-
Floating to a nearby sister hospital as needed
-
Uses Cerner EMR for charting
-
Active SC or compact/multi-state RN license required
-
1 year of Mother Baby couplet care experience required
-
Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing
-
BSN preferred
-
BLS certification required (AHA only)

NRP certification required for WIC service RNs within 6 months of hire

Ability to lift/move patients frequently and push/pull up to 50 lbs intermittently

Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping required

Provide nursing care to postpartum and newborn couplet patients following established standards of practice

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with physicians and care teams

Constant interaction with patients, families, physicians, and other staff

Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Travelers may extend on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning

Work environment includes exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials common to healthcare settings
