Description:
This position encompasses a large variety of duties in a fast-paced environment which eliminates job stagnation. The Pre-Press Graphic Designer provides critical support to the sales and production teams by preparing accurate, press-ready files for print and ensuring artwork meets production specifications and client expectations. This role is responsible for reviewing customer-supplied files, making necessary adjustments for print compatibility, and generating proofs for approval. The ideal candidate has strong computer skills, a solid command of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat), and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A keen eye for detail, print production knowledge, and excellent file organization are essential.
Essential Functions and Duties

Correspond with customers & sales staff via email, in person, or on the phone.

Enter jobs in P21 and send quotes for approval.

Cross-reference artwork with job specs and purchase orders to ensure accuracy

Provide digital or printed proofs for approval.

Create work orders with job notes for production.

Review and prep print ready files for production.

Design or revise projects when applicable.

Follow up on orders, quotes or proofs to ensure that they are on track and billed properly.

Work with outsourced vendors to provide items not done in-house.

Coordinate small format and design jobs to ensure all work is done on time. Communicate file status, proof approvals, and production concerns with the sales and coordination teams

Ensure files are set up correctly for various production equipment (e.g., flatbed printers, cutters, routers)

Maintain organized file systems and follow best practices

Perform additional design or production tasks as assigned

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite

General knowledge of PCs with ability to use core MS Office applications such as Windows, Word, and Outlook.

Understanding of (or ability to learn) and adherence to safety rules and regulations related to warehouse operations and equipment usage.
