OVERVIEW:
WEI is seeking a Construction Engineering Tech III. Note that this position will require a company issued vehicle for occasional field work and will be required to report to the 1041 Prison Camp Rd address in Durham every day of the work week. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Some experience with signs, signals, pavement markings, and engineering principals is required.
- Extensive computer experience including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
- Comfortable performing site visits with minimal supervision or independently.
- Organized, comfortable speaking with the public on a regular basis, detailoriented, able to perform work individually or in a team, reliable.
- Capable of being the main point of contact with municipalities for coordination of projects and work.
- Must be able and comfortable holding and attending meetings in person and
virtually.
- TEAAS experience is a preferred
Additional Information:
Perform minor calculations for survey notes and estimates. Employee may be required to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays to fulfill inspection and surveying needs. Employee may be subject to outside environmental conditions, noise, and hazards from vehicles and construction machinery. Must have a valid Class C Driver's License and clean driving record. Safety toe shoes required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Appointment as Trainee possible with High School Diploma and some inspection experience.
Desirable: Associate's degree in the assigned discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require certification. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Comfortability using an iPad a plus.
