Job Title: Housekeeper – Long Term Care / Nursing Home
Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors in a long-term care or nursing home facility. This role plays a vital part in infection control and overall resident well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Perform routine cleaning duties such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Handle and dispose of waste according to facility policies
- Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors
- Respect resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly and safely
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
- Long-term care or nursing home setting
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential biohazards (with proper protective equipment provided)
