We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CDL A Driver (Manual Transmission).
In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. Your expertise in operating commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, will be essential in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. The ideal candidate for the CDL A Driver (Manual Transmission) position will contribute to our commitment to excellence in service and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks, refrigerated trailers, and tankers, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Execute route driving effectively to deliver freight to designated locations on schedule.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and maintenance logs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to optimize routes and address any delivery challenges.
- Manage freight documentation and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Adhere to company policies regarding driving hours and rest periods to promote safety on the road.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and best practices.
- Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS systems and maps for route planning.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address logistical challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and load securing techniques.
Pay rate: $26 to $28 an hour, based on experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday. 7 am to 5 pm.
