Job Summary
The head teacher at Little Bumblebee’s Early Learning Center LLC plays a critical leadership role in creating a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. This position is responsible for implementing the early learning curriculum, modeling best practices in child development, mentoring assistant teachers, and fostering strong partnerships with families.
The Head Teacher serves as a classroom leader and supports the overall mission of the center. Our mission is to nurture young minds through love, learning, and joyful exploration.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment
- Build trusting relationships with children and families through daily communication and family engagement
- Observe and document each child’s growth, development, and behavior using assessment tools
- Ensure compliance with all local licensing regulations and health/safety procedures
- Provide ongoing feedback to staff and assist in new teacher orientation
- Collaborate with the Director on curriculum enhancements and classroom needs
- Manage classroom schedules, routines, and transitions smoothly
- Respond effectively to challenging behaviors using positive discipline techniques
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of early childhood best practices, curriculum planning, and classroom management
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working with children and supporting their growth
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
- Pay based on experience and qualifications
