POSITION SUMMARY
A Systems Technician is technology professional with multiple years of hands-on experience with equipment that is applied on industrial control and information technology in manufacturing environments. The Systems Technician principally operates in a Project Support role using broad knowledge on a variety of control platforms coupled with field experience. In addition to providing support functions for engineering projects, a Systems Technician performs hands-on electrical work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Assist with design, development, testing and implementation for client projects
- Assist Engineering Team with AutoCad drafting.
- Assist Engineering Team with PLC and HMI software development.
- Assist Engineering Team with system commissioning at customer facilities.
- Perform field service on control systems.
- Create and edit control drawings and other technical documentation for use on client projects
- Assemble, wire, and test control panels and related components in both shop and field settings
- Provide field service and troubleshooting support for client incident jobs
- Participate in equipment installation and provide commissioning support for projects at client facilities
- Interact regularly with project team members throughout the course of the project
Knowledge & Experience
- Thorough comprehension of electrical, computer, and electronics principles
- Broad knowledge of process instrumentation, sensors, motor controls, relay theory, industrial networks, and other technology found in manufacturing systems
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, industry standards, practices and concepts associated with automation, industrial control and information systems
- Experience with programming, configuration, and testing of systems containing industrial controllers, computers and information technology
- Capable of editing drawings and completing designs using AutoCad
- Sr Systems Technicians will have a thorough knowledge of manufacturer process, proficiency with programming and a broader knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, motor controls and other technology found in the manufacturing systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may assist with training and mentoring less experienced welders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Engineering/Technology A.A.S. Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Manufacturing
- Military training or certification in electrical or computer field in lieu of an A.A.S degree
Automation Technician position Requirements:
- o A minimum of three or more years of industry experience in maintaining control and information systems will be considered in lieu of an A.A.S. Degree.
Systems Technician Position Requirements:
- Engineering/Technology A.A.S. Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Manufacturing
- Military training or certification in electrical or computer field in lieu of an A.A.S degree
- 1 to 3 years industry experience maintaining control and information systems.
Sr System Technician Position Requirements ;
- Engineering/Technology A.A.S. Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Manufacturing
- Military training or certification in electrical or computer field in lieu of an A.A.S degree
- Three or more years industry experience in maintaining control and information systems.
DECISION-MAKING AND SCOPE
- Exercises independent judgment in performing weld quality, equipment settings and fabrication techniques.
- Supports prioritization and coordination of departmental workflows to meet reporting deadlines and operational objectives
- Supports production goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to welding fumes, heat, noise, and machinery. Required PPE includes welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive use of hands and arms
- Ability to bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Up to 25% overnight travel, some say day travel.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS
This is a full-time position. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Additional hours may occasionally be required to support month-end close, audit activities, or operational deadlines.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position could be based in Evansville IN, Bowling Green KT or Parsons KS. is full time on site.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS INFORMATION
Magnum Systems utilizes a market-based compensation approach aligned to role scope, experience, and performance. Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and location.
This range represents the company’s good faith estimate of compensation for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business considerations.
