This position is open to Certified Medical Assistants (CMA/RMA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Registered Nurses (RN) who enjoy working in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Position Summary
The Clinical Team Member is responsible for providing direct patient care and clinical support to providers while ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the office. This role includes rooming patients, performing clinical procedures within the employee's scope of practice, documenting patient information, assisting with examinations and procedures, coordinating care, and promoting a positive patient experience.
Essential Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain complete medical histories.
- Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, and weight.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during office visits and procedures.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments within scope of practice.
- Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and other clinical procedures as appropriate.
- Draw blood and collect laboratory specimens when qualified.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (Athenahealth experience preferred but not required).
- Complete medication refills, prior authorizations, referrals, and patient follow-up as directed.
- Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and provider instructions.
- Respond to patient messages and telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and communicate abnormal findings or patient concerns to the provider.
- Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards.
- Maintain inventory and notify leadership when supplies need to be reordered.
- Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Follow OSHA, CLIA, infection prevention, and other regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with providers, front office staff, and other departments to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support practice operations.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
Preferred
- Previous experience in primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine.
- Current certification/licensure as a healthcare professional.
- Experience with Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of insurance requirements, referrals, and prior authorizations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and moving throughout the clinic.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform clinical procedures and operate medical equipment.
