About the Opportunity
As an Advanced Service Technician, you’ll play an important role in keeping our customers’ agricultural and turf equipment operating at its best. This is an opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex problems, working with their hands, and taking pride in a job well done.
You’ll work independently while having the support of an experienced service team and access to ongoing training to keep your skills and product knowledge current.

What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair agricultural and turf equipment, including advanced mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and service repairs using technical manuals, special tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Participate in service training programs to continually develop your technical skills and product knowledge.
- Stay up to date on John Deere and competitive products and technologies.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in good working condition.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and professional.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Accurately complete service reports, forms, time records, and material documentation.
- Provide field service and diagnostics when needed.
- Take on additional responsibilities and assignments as directed by the Shop Foreman or Service Manager.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a self-motivated, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in their work and is committed to providing customers with dependable service.
Ideal qualifications include:
- 3+ years of experience performing service repairs.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use special tools and equipment and follow technical manual procedures.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and equipment manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- A hands-on approach to learning and problem-solving.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 75 pounds.
