Schedule: On-site, 5 days/week, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plastics Extrusion Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and monitor extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic tubing products, ensuring efficient production, adherence to safety standards, and consistent quality. Responsibilities
Set up, operate, monitor, and shut down plastic tubing extrusion equipment. Perform tooling and product changeovers according to production requirements. Monitor extrusion conditions and make adjustments to maintain consistent production and product quality. Read and interpret production orders, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Use measurement tools to verify tubing dimensions and ensure products meet spec. Work comfortably with decimals, fractions, and both English and metric units of measurement. Complete production orders accurately and within schedule. Maintain accurate daily production records, including Production Data Sheets. Identify and communicate production, equipment, and quality issues to supervisors. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on extrusion equipment and tooling. Use hand and power tools for basic equipment adjustments, repairs, and maintenance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and operating procedures. Assist with troubleshooting production and equipment issues. Work cooperatively with Quality Control, Maintenance, Engineering, and other production staff.
Candidates will complete a basic skills test as part of the selection process. The position includes an initial 6-8 week training and evaluation period.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or technical/vocational training a plus. Minimum 2 years of full-time manufacturing, production, mechanical, or similar steady work experience. Previous plastics extrusion experience strongly preferred.
Technical & Mechanical Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery. Experience with hand and power tools preferred. Ability to perform basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, and unit conversions. Ability to read and use measurement equipment accurately. Basic electrical knowledge a plus, not required.
Communication & Computer Skills
Basic computer skills, including email and entering or reviewing production data. Sufficient English proficiency to follow production instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently after training. Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take on increasing responsibility. Ability to work overtime as production needs require
