Detailed Job Description
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead maintenance team members, including scheduling, coaching, and performance management
- Provide hands-on support with maintenance and repairs as needed
- Maintain and repair yellow iron equipment (loaders, skid steers, wheel loaders, haul trucks, etc.)
- Diagnose and service Tier 4 diesel engines
- Oversee repairs and preventative maintenance of Peterbilt and Volvo semi-truck fleet
- Manage work order generation, prioritization, and approval processes
- Develop, implement, and improve preventative maintenance programs and schedules
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership to support production needs
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, operators, and management
- Learn and maintain specialized stone processing equipment:
- Thin veneer saws
- Stone bridge saws
- Stone wire saws
- Oversee parts ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Identify and source cost-effective parts and materials while maintaining quality
- Maintain accurate repair logs, inspection records, and maintenance reports
- Utilize maintenance systems such as MaintainX (or similar platforms)
- Lead and enforce safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Strong managerial experience, including supervising and developing maintenance personnel
- Diesel Mechanic Certification (ASE or equivalent) strongly preferred but not required
- Experience with work order systems, including creation, tracking, and approvals
- Proven ability in maintenance planning and scheduling, especially preventative maintenance
- Experience with Tier 4 diesel systems and diagnostics
- Knowledge of yellow equipment and heavy trucks (Peterbilt, Volvo)
- DOT certification for truck/trailer repairs (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with parts ordering, inventory management, and cost control
- Demonstrated ability to source best-value parts and supplies
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with team members and collaborate across departments
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, coach, and communicate expectations clearly
- Safety-minded with strong knowledge of OSHA standards, including:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Fall protection
- General maintenance-related safety programs
- Experience with MaintainX or similar maintenance management software is highly preferred

- Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
