Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable Driver to join our team. We manufacture metal roofing panels and fabricate trim from flat stock. This position is primarily a driving job, including hauling coils, delivering materials, and pulling a panel‑machine trailer to job sites to run panels.
When driving work is light, you will help in the shop with trim fabrication, and general material handling. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys physical work, learning new skills, and working in a fast‑paced shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Pull a panel‑machine trailer to job sites, run metal roofing panels, and return to the shop.
- Safely secure, and transport coils and finished materials using a trailer.
- Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions across local, regional, or long-haul routes.
- Transport trailers, flatbed trucks while maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and ensure timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance records as required by FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight handling.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with trailers and flatbed trucks.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS systems to follow designated routes efficiently.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
