Douglas County is accepting applications for a full-time Facility Maintenance Tech with the Facility Maintenance Department. The primary responsibility for this position is general building and grounds maintenance in a variety of Douglas County facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, general/basic maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.), preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, event and equipment setup, cleaning, snow removal, and other duties as needed.
The preferred applicant will be reliable, flexible, and have the ability to work independently and with other members of the facility maintenance team. Knowledge and experience of general maintenance and repair in multiple trades/specialties is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning methods and techniques is a must. This position must also possess the skills to occasionally work with members of the public in a professional manner and have a strong eye for detail.
Successful candidate must pass a background check. Requirements include valid driver’s license; Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
