Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC / Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining both CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and technical skills will ensure the highest quality standards are met. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and manual machining tools with precision and efficiency.
- Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce complex parts.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and engineering documents.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accurate measurements.
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assemble components as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts when necessary for material handling.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining processes and reduce waste.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions meet specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development, tooling design, or process improvements.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fusion or similar control systems.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T standards for precise manufacturing.
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes including CNC milling, turning, drilling, and grinding.
- Skilled in SolidWorks or CAD software for part design and modifications.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, selection, and maintenance for various machine types.
- Experience working in manufacturing environments with a focus on quality control and safety standards.
