The Support Services Manager, Supply Chain reports to the Director, Supply Chain and is responsible for leading a team of ~30 buyers and material coordinators to procure and manage general material in support of BIW’s services business with ~8 Direct Reports.
Safety Leadership:

Ensure zero recordable injuries in supply chain
Project Execution:

Identify and implement projects that result in Waste Reductions
- Responsible for material estimate proposal development

Responsible for procurement of all Planning Yard material and meeting schedule requirements of the Navy Customer
Management:

Oversee the kitting and delivery of material (both Fabricated in house or purchased)
- Report Supply Chain activity performance and give formal presentations of material status and forecasts to the Navy Customer
Training and Development:

Facilitate Development Conversations for all direct reports at least on a quarterly basis identifying what they are doing well and areas of opportunity at their level or the level above as a potential promotion candidate
Team Collaboration and Communication:

Interface with BIW Design, Engineering, Program Office, Estimating, Contracts, Planning and Manufacturing
- Collaborate cross functionally to identify process gaps that are impacting downstream / upstream organizations and recommend a set of solutions
Continuous Improvement:

Encourage / Drive the team to recommend process improvement initiatives that can reduce waste
