The Clapping Monkey House of Coffee is a locally queer-owned, pop-and-pop coffee shop in Fridley built around great coffee, food, hospitality, creativity, and community. We're hiring part-time Barista Shift Leads to help create a welcoming place where people can comfortably be themselves while keeping shifts organized and running smoothly.
This is a hands-on lead-worker role, not a Management position. Barista Shift Leads work alongside the team while directing immediate workflow, assigning routine tasks, verifying opening and closing work, supporting food-safety and quality standards, resolving routine guest concerns, and escalating issues when Management involvement is needed.
What we're looking for:

Coffee shop, food-service, hospitality, retail, or comparable customer-service experience

Reliability, communication, organization, and ability to lead by example

Working knowledge of cash handling, food safety, cleaning, and opening or closing procedures

Ability to stay calm and provide clear direction during busy service

Opening, closing, evening, weekend, and holiday availability based on business needs
$11.50/hour + tips when scheduled as a Barista
$12.50/hour + tips when scheduled and working as Barista Shift Lead

Shifts may range from approximately 2.5 to 8 hours.
