Job Description
Position summary: The Tool & Die Technician is a skilled professional that plays a crucial position in manufacturing by completing tasks such as filing, grinding, and shimming metal to ensure a smooth finish. It is the job of the tool and dies technician to always ensure that the dies have the proper finish on them so that Hyundai Steel Georgia produces no products with defects or deformities.
General purpose: The Tool & Die Technician will perform a variety of duties to ensure that the tools and dies are functioning properly in order to meet the production goals and quality standards for Hyundai Steel Georgia. We are specifically looking for those with welding AND die experience at this time.
Role qualifications:

A High School diploma/GED required
-
One to two years of manufacturing experience preferred

Proficiency in reading blueprints

Experience in using a variety of hand tools, including: lathes and grinders

Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
-
Ability to work independently or as a part of a team

Excellent communication skills
-
Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access

Familiarity with ISO standards, SPC, or other quality systems

Welding
Position responsibilities:
-
Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the company.
-
Dissembles, assembles, inspects, cleans, and polishes molds.
-
Ensures blades on mold are sharp.
-
Assist with reassembling and rewiring molds (as needed).
-
Performs light mold repair work supervised with vendor.
-
Maintain PM records on machines.
-
Clean and manage the intricate part of the machinery on the blanking line.

Ability to repair and maintain

Work closely with Production and Quality departments to ensure there are no issues with the dies or equipment.

Quality Inspector:
Responsible for ensuring all raw material meet established standards for quality, safety, and compliance. The Quality Inspector will maintain customer satisfaction by performing inspections, documenting findings, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.

Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.) to verify product specifications.

Identify defects, non-conformities, or deviations from established standards.

Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records.

Communicate findings to production staff and supervisors promptly.

Adhere to safety and company policies.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermitted breaks during the workday do not compromise the work.
