Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. This role is located in Austin, TX and will require relocation. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Select fresh ingredients and handle raw fish and seafood safely and efficiently.
- Create visually appealing sushi presentations that delight customers’ senses.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy hours.
- Keep inventory organized, monitor stock levels, and communicate supply needs proactively.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Deep knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills and fish handling.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine and creative presentation.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
