The Job
The Donation Processing Subject Matter Expert will open, sort and process incoming mail, ensuring proper and timely processing of donations. Deliver training, maintain procedures, and perform quality control on all Incoming Mail Center (IMC) work. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Responsibilities
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Open, sort and process incoming donation mail using remittance processing machines, consistent with established production service level agreements. Sort interoffice mail and maintain log of all priority mail.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of scanning sorts and posting system rules to analyze opened mail and create scanning sorts that maximize processing automation.
- As needed, and in partnership with Training and Production Coordinator, train IMC staff members, including on-call and agency staff, on the proper use of IMC machinery and donation analysis and sorting procedures. Handle spontaneous IMC related questions and requests for coaching.
- Participate in discussions and planning for new response device handling procedures. Maintain and update Incoming Mail Center procedures.
- Analyze work produced by all agency and permanent Incoming Mail Center staff (when directed) to perform quality control. Provide feedback and coaching resulting from quality reviews.
- Verify and balance received cash following established cash control procedures. Participate in cash deposit creation.
- Operate 2-pass imaging remittance system to capture and archive donation data and encode and endorse checks for deposit.
- Support other Donation Processing teams with check transaction processing, ensuring accurate posting of donor contributions
- Operate the donor accounting system, requiring advanced knowledge of multiple screens related to donor accounts.
- Access internal databases to perform simple research of donor accounts ensuring accurate posting of donor contributions
- Escalate complex postings requiring verification of donor intent.
- Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
