The missions of the Department of Management (MGT) and the Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism (MEHT) are to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate education programs for their degree programs and other programs in the Bryan School. We achieve this by integrating quality education with relevant research and professional service for firms, industry, and academe. This endeavor produces principled leaders and exceptional problem solvers with an innovative mindset and a commitment to improve and sustain organizations in a global environment and the communities in which they live.
The Department of Management comprises 24 full-time faculty in the areas of international business and management. The Department offers BS degrees in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, and International Business. At the graduate level, the Department offers an online Master of Science in International Business, an online PhD in Business Administration, and contributes to the MBA program. As of Fall 2025, the Department served 1,463 undergraduate students and 101 graduate students. The faculty are active in research and have published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, Human Relations, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Leadership Quarterly, Management Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Strategic Management Journal, to name a few.
The Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism offers BS degrees in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism Management.. At the graduate level, the Department also offers two core MBA courses as well as a concentration and graduate certificate in marketing through the MBA program. As of Fall 2025, the Department served 648 undergraduate majors. The North Carolina Sales Institute is also associated with the Department. The faculty are active in research and have published in journals such as Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Industrial Marketing Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management and Journal of Business Ethics among others.
The Bryan School of Business and Economics has 4,765 undergraduate and graduate students and over 130 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors, and accolades. Additionally, in recent years, its tenure-stream faculty members averaged 2 to 3 peer-reviewed journal articles each, among them 15-20 in FT50 journals plus another 20-25 in other 4 or 4* journals (CABS AJG), in addition to books and grants.
