Speech Language Pathologist
The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Schools for the 2026-2027 School Year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Speech and Language Services
Evaluate students’ speech, language, and communication skills using standardized assessments and informal measures.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address identified needs.
Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services, 5 days per week, in alignment with IEPs.
Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and related service providers to integrate speech and language goals into classroom settings.
Conduct evaluations and screenings for referred students as needed.
Special Education Case Management (as assigned)
Serve as case manager for a caseload of students with IEPs.
Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring parental participation and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Develop, monitor, and adjust IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications based on student progress.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations related to special education services.
Collaboration & Consultation
Provide guidance and resources to teachers and families to support student communication needs.
Participate actively in Child Study Team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Maintain strong, ongoing communication with families, including quarterly progress reports.
Maintain accurate documentation, therapy logs, and service records in accordance with school, state, and federal guidelines.
Complete and submit all required reports and data collection in a timely manner.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Valid New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist Certification and/or Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility).
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to special education and speech-language pathology.
Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
