Pay Range: $12.00/Hour
About this opportunity:
Observes and leads members participating in athletic activities, camps and sporting events; ensures the proper maintenance of all sporting facilities and equipment; promotes good sportsmanship
Key responsibilities:
-
Observes members participating in various sports such as football, basketball, soccer, baseball, etc.
- Conducts various drills to teach members dribbling, shooting, and defense techniques.
- Maintains order and control over members participating in sports; promotes good sportsmanship and practices proper discipline when necessary; maintains open communication with participants’ parents to discuss performance, behavior, and schedules.
- Assists staff as requested, supervises, and monitors children during various camps, programs, and recreational and athletic activities; observes, monitors, and supervises children on the playground.
- Generates accident and/or incident reports as needed; submits proper documentation to supervisor upon completion.
- Participates in team meetings on a regular basis ensuring all team members are aware of sports schedule and plans.
- Obtains, maintains, and secures sports equipment in compliance with acceptable standards to ensure the long life of equipment.
What are we looking for in you:

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School or G.E.D.
And
-
Experience in customer relations and leading fitness and recreational activities preferred.
Or
-
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications
-
Safe From Harm Certification
-
Blood Borne Pathogens Certification
-
Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide/AED certification within first 30 days of employment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. The ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to advanced weightlifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs.
Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
