Asphalt Laborer
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Asphalt Installation and Repair: Execute asphalt installation and repair tasks with precision and efficiency, including pavement resurfacing, patching, and pothole repair.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various asphalt equipment, such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, and milling machines, ensuring their safe and optimal functioning, and clean equipment after each use.
- Surface Preparation: Prepare work areas by cleaning, sweeping, and clearing debris, ensuring a smooth surface for asphalt application.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high-quality standards throughout the asphalt paving process, checking for proper compaction, smoothness, and overall finish.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other crew members, including supervisors, equipment operators, and laborers, to ensure seamless workflow and timely project completion.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and others. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Perform general labor duties.
• Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. • Wear proper PPE while on the job site and in the yard: Safety toed work boots, safety vest, work gloves, safety glasses and hard hat
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
- Perform with minimum supervision.
- Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions.
- Available to work overtime.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot potential issues.
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Report to work at the designated start time.
- Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
- Must have a valid Driver’s License (CDL Preferred)
- Properly follow all company safety policies.
