American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (IMC) position on a weekend-only night shift schedule, requiring at least 1-2 years of experience and ventilator proficiency for IMC-level patients.

Work on Bean 5, a 43-bed Medical Telemetry/IMC unit in a hospital setting

Patient population includes respiratory, medical telemetry, surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute-on-chronic medical conditions

Patient ratios: Day Shift Med/Surg 1:4-5, Night Shift Med/Surg 1:5-6, Day and Night IMC 3:1

Equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and trach care supplies

EMR: Epic

Weekend-only schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

No on-call requirements

Floating required: IMC RNs may float to another IMC-level unit or to Med/Surg as needed; Med/Surg RNs may float to units with a similar level of care; floating is based on unit need, skill, and nursing unit needs

Float policy includes potential travel between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed

Active ME RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required

Ventilator experience required for IMC-level candidates

Experience with tracheostomy care and reading/interpreting telemetry strips required for all candidates

Driver's license required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

2 professional references required for consideration

Mandatory facility onboarding education modules must be completed
-
Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and subject to a different pay rate structure

Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions

Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at the time of application

Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this position

Use of AirPods, laptops, and personal cell phones on the unit is prohibited

Professional attire required; unprofessional clothing and shirts with non-hospital logos are not permitted
