At a Glance:

About the Role
This role plays a key part in keeping our purchasing and inventory operations running smoothly. You’ll work closely with the Purchasing Manager, support daily workflow, and help maintain accurate, organized systems that prevent shortages and keep production moving. Success here comes from staying detail‑focused, managing your own priorities, communicating clearly, and solving issues with a sense of urgency. What You’ll Do
- Support the Purchasing Manager with MRO purchasing, budgeting, and spend tracking.
- Manage inventory control for tool crib areas, including cycle counts for items such as envelopes, tubes, grinding wheels and more.
- Maintain inventory records, monitor usage trends, and prevent shortages or material overstock.
- Direct receiving clerks when the Purchasing Manager is unavailable and
- Ensure all receiving documents (receivers, packing slips, invoices) are properly matched and accounted for.
- Research commodities, obtain vendor quotes, and coordinate shipments and deliveries with carriers.
- Enter grinding wheel test results and follow up with operators and vendors as needed.
- Assist Accounting with month‑end paperwork and invoice matching.
- Use software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, ePMX, and AutoCrib.
- Identify and resolve recurring issues to improve workflow efficiency.
- Apply strong judgment, accuracy, urgency, and independent task prioritization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma
- Minimum Experience: 2 – 3 years of related experience
- Experience with inventory systems or purchasing software (ePMX, AutoCrib) preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain productivity rates and continuously expand department knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and follow established procedures
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve recurring issues
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands
- Visual acuity includes close vision, depth perception, and color vision
- Must successfully complete a post-offer physical assessment
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
