Job Title: Logistics Specialist (Temporary Assignment)
Location: New York City, NY (On-site)
Employment Type: Temporary (Leave Coverage: Approximately September 2026 – February 2027)

Support logistics operations for an international metals and minerals trading business.

Coordinate domestic and international shipments while ensuring timely delivery, accurate documentation, and payment processing.

Work closely with overseas offices, logistics providers, customers, and internal departments.

Coordinate product release requests with overseas offices.
-
Prepare and distribute shipping and logistics instructions.
-
Collect customers' monthly shipment declarations and communicate with overseas stakeholders.

Negotiate freight rates with trucking, rail, port, and other transportation providers.

Calculate freight costs and provide transportation cost information to overseas offices.

Issue shipping instructions to transportation companies and ports.

Monitor shipments from origin through final customer delivery.
-
Coordinate warehouse transfers and inventory movements.
-
Prepare and issue shipping documents to customers.

Create customer invoices and distribute them through appropriate channels.

Prepare credit and debit documentation when required.

Coordinate shipment releases with customs brokers and other logistics partners.

Enter invoices into the company's internal ERP/accounting system.

Process payments to transportation providers, warehouses, customs brokers, insurance companies, suppliers, and other vendors.

Monitor customer payments and record transactions in the internal system.

Process intercompany and mutual account transactions.

Support reconciliation of shipments involving provisional and final pricing.

Maintain detailed shipment records, including pricing, payment status, contract terms, and due dates using spreadsheets.

Organize logistics files and maintain accurate documentation.

Prepare and distribute copies of freight, warehousing, port, customs, and payment-related documents to overseas offices.

Perform general administrative support related to logistics operations.

Associate's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

1–2 years of office or administrative experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural business environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Experience with an ERP system is preferred.

Temporary leave coverage assignment.

Expected duration: Approximately September through February.

On-site position in New York City.
