Position Summary
Promotive is hiring an experienced A Level Automotive Technician for a highly respected independent repair shop in North Royalton, OH.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who thrives on diagnostics, enjoys solving complex vehicle concerns, and wants to work in a structured, professional environment where quality work is valued. We're looking for a technician who is more than a parts replacer. The ideal candidate is well-versed in diagnostics and can confidently identify root-cause failures involving drivability, electrical systems, intermittent concerns, and complex performance issues.
Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced diagnostics on drivability, electrical, engine performance, and intermittent vehicle concerns

Accurately diagnose root-cause failures using scan data, wiring diagrams, testing equipment, and repair procedures

Repair and service engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, HVAC, and electrical systems

Conduct advanced diagnostic testing including voltage drop, pressure, leak-down, and circuit testing

Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) using AutoVitals

Communicate findings clearly and document repair recommendations thoroughly

Maintain high productivity in a flat-rate environment without sacrificing quality

Support and mentor less experienced technicians when needed

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional automotive technician experience

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills required

Well-versed in advanced automotive diagnostics, including electrical, drivability, and intermittent vehicle concerns

Ability to accurately interpret scan tool data, wiring diagrams, and technical service information

Experience using modern diagnostic equipment and testing procedures

Proven ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts

ASE Certifications preferred

Experience working in a flat-rate environment preferred

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented attitude
