Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision, maintain and repair all district owned vehicles and maintenance equipment. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all district automotive equipment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid Texas Drivers’ License
· ASE Certified (preferred)
Special Knowledge/ Skills:
· Knowledge of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
· Ability to use hand and power tools.
· Such alternatives to the above as the District may find appropriate.
Experience:
· Minimum three years experience.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receive and make repairs from work orders.
2. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of automotive systems.
3. Service and repair engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, transmissions, drive lines, air conditioning systems, and other related items on white fleet, trucks, tractors, and maintenance equipment.
4. Maintain an inventory of district owned tools, equipment, and materials.
5. Respond to emergency calls as needed.
6. Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping.
7. Report to Operations supervisor items that are in need of repair.
8. Maintain personal appearance at or above minimum standards of the school district's dress code.
9. Maintain a spirit of cooperation and helpfulness with all school personnel and with the general public.
10. Maintain the equipment issued to him/her, keeping it clean and in good repair.
11. Maintain service records on all vehicles.
12. Perform planned maintenance on all vehicles.
13. Provide supervision over the vehicle technician.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
· Standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling for long periods of time
· Frequent Lifting of 50+ lbs
· Occasional prolonged or irregular hours may be required

· Exposure to extreme hot and/or cold weather
Pay: $25.24 - $33.09 per hour
