Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Audit Associate to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will prepare multiple audits, review and compilation engagements to deliver efficient, accurate, complete and timely services for our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical
- Plan and prepare audit, review and compilation engagements, including designing and implementing risk-based audit programs and procedures, executing fieldwork and managing budget to obtain a profitable realization rate.
- Prepare higher level risk workpaper sections.
- Review staff workpapers, providing constructive feedback and manage the efficient completion of workpapers by staff.
- Provide clients with financial reporting guidance to assist in the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare client communication letters regarding audit findings, recommendations and required communications in accordance with GAAP.
- Serve as the primary contact between the audit engagement team and the client representative, ensuring the audit manager and partner are adequately informed of all relevant issues.
- Plan, audit, and complete audit engagement using PCAOB standards.
- Independently manage the full lifecycle of complex or higher-risk engagements, including alternative investment or private fund audits, with minimal partner and manager oversight.
- Demonstrate ability to critical think through and discuss technical issues.
- Manage multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
- Ensure that audit efficiency is driven into each engagement and that job economics are diligently monitored.
- Research issues and document conclusions.
- Supervise staff and write evaluations promptly after fieldwork.
- Perform a self-review of all workpapers.
- Stay abreast of required CPE license renewal requirements or actively pursue required CPA credentials.
- Train and mentor associates
Communication
- Contributes to team discussion to share knowledge that can benefit the team.
Information Technology
- Work to keep abreast of changes in firm software and provide guidance to audit associates regarding the use of firm software.
Practice Development
- Begin to look for opportunities to increase services with existing clients as well as look at new client opportunities.
- Begin attending networking events including career fairs to gain new staff
- Begin interviewing potential audit associates and interns
Teamwork
- Be a positive role model to the staff and help to create a positive firm culture.
Qualifications:
- CPA Certification or Candidate
- 2-5 years prior experience in public accounting audit
- Experience with SEC issuer/PCAOB engagement standards
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to adapt to change
