Summary:
As a Sales Clerk in Manga Spot, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and engaging shopping experience for our customers. You will assist customers in finding their desired item, provide information about new releases and recommendations, handle transactions at the cash register, and maintain the overall appearance and organization of the store. Your excellent customer service skills and passion for manga will contribute to the store's success and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and assist them in finding their desired items or genres.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on customer preferences, promoting featured titles, bestsellers, and new releases.
- Respond to customer inquiries about book availability, content, and pricing.
- Operate the cash register accurately, process payments, and provide correct change.
- Upsell additional items to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
- Ensure shelves are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
- Collaborate with other sales clerks and store staff to maintain a smooth store operation and meet sales goals.
- Assist in receiving and unpacking shipments of new books and merchandise.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong passion for manga, and good knowledge of various genres and authors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer-focused with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy boxes of books.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
