Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including belly dump such as dump trucks to transport freight efficiently across designated routes.
- Plan and follow optimal routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo or with handling of logistics cargo while maintaining safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, load security, and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and load manifests in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols while being loaded or unloading related to job sites procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmission preferred.
- Knowledge of refrigeration units, refrigerated trailer operation, flatbed securing techniques, tanker handling, and roll-off truck procedures.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Excellent driving record demonstrating safe operation of tractor-trailers across diverse environments.
- Capable of managing logistics cargo handling safely while complying with all safety standards.
