Job Summary:
Manufacturing NE Supervisor provides front-line leadership to the manufacturing associates. Supports Manager I of assigned area with continuous improvement activity.

Education and/or Experience:
- 12 months related education, experience and/or training in a similar position.

Previous supervisory experience preferred
Background/Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Basic Computer skills such as, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, email, etc.
-
Effective communication skills in a professional environment from General Level associates up to Executive Management.

Effective problem solving and root cause analysis using the accepted method.
-
Prefer experience or knowledge of measuring tools, such as, calipers, mics, height gauge, dial indictors, etc.

Associate has passed the Qualified Trainers Test and is qualified as a Trainer for the processes for which they directly supervise.

Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to USSBP1’s Safety Policy and practices and report any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department immediately and/or to your direct supervisor.

Ensure proper safety practices are in place and enforced.
-
Assist with implementation of new safety practices.
-
Recognize unsafe conditions and implement corrective action where needed.

Directly supervises all associates and Technician I, Technician II level associates in the Assembly / Machining Department on the lines assigned as well as other areas of the plant in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Ensures that all associates have the proper PPE, safety devices are working properly and are properly used.

Promotes a safety-first, quality-driven, productive work environment.
-
Adheres to training procedure, that all associates working on processes they supervise are trained / certified, in process of being certified or at a minimum, emergency certified.

Monitors / administers training to all associates to verify they understand their processes, how to complete quality and manufacturing checks.
-
Checks all manufacturing and operator quality check sheets for accuracy and completion.
-
Ensures that all corrective action communications are filled out for out of spec readings. Verifies that all deviations are current. Reports any discrepancies to Assistant Manager or above.

Ensures that all 6S activities are maintained on production lines and 6S audits are completed on a weekly basis.

Ensure that all associates review and understand updates to any documents as given or revised.

Ensures the correct document revisions are line side thru the document control system.

Tracks all PM projects / work orders for thoroughness and completeness.

Complete all production reporting as assigned.

Complete payroll every Monday by 9 a.m. Maintain schedules, transfer hours accordingly, ensure that all over time hours are approved by department manager.

Maintain department overtime plan.
-
Achieve daily production and OEE requirements.

Achieve Expense targets for line assigned.
-
Elevate downtime and follow the call tree escalation rules.

Addresses all complaints and resolves issues in a timely, professional matter. Any issues that can’t be resolved need to be addressed with Assistant Manager or above or Human Resources.

Issues coaching/counseling in a timely manner as approved by management and Human Resources.

Approves vacation in a timely manner and follows department policies in accordance with daily allowances.

Provides or gives associates Continuous and timely feedback on daily performance.

Ensure the proper use of the SH toolbox in daily start up meeting.
