Mathematics Teacher
Reports To: Vice Principal/Department Chair Job Status: 10-month, full-time, exempt
Salary Information: Salary will be based upon our compensation guidelines, with a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) range
of $58,916 - $87,651, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for benefits
(medical, dental, vision), generous PTO and holiday schedule, 401(k) savings plan with school match, higher
education tuition reimbursement, and JSerra tuition discount of 50% off base tuition for each dependent child or
legal guardian designated child who attends JSerra.
Description: JSerra Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced mathematics instructor to teach
various levels of high school mathematics, from Algebra to AP Calculus, within our Mathematics department as
needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for working with high
school students in a faith-based academic environment. Applicants should have the ability to participate in shared
decision-making in a team environment, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be proficient in
using education-related technology.

Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to all students.
- Assess, record, and maintain student progress via the school’s online grading program.
- Provide oral or written assessments, reports, and references relating to individual students.
- Ensure proper preparation of students for AP examinations (if applicable)
- Perform as an active team member of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) by communicating and
collaborating with same-level teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching
materials, and methods of teaching and assessment.
- Participate in in-service meetings, education, and professional training courses.
- Participate in staff, group, or other meetings related to the school.
- Supervise students outside of the classroom as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills in both writing and speaking.
- Proficiency in the development of curriculum at the secondary level.
- Proficiency in assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records via the school’s grading
program.
