Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and enhancement of our facilities and outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in landscaping, lawn care, and general maintenance. This position is essential for ensuring that our grounds and facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on buildings, including repairs and upkeep of structures.
- Conduct lawn care activities such as mowing, trimming, and fertilizing.
- Manage landscape maintenance tasks, including planting, pruning, and tree care.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various maintenance tasks.
- Assist with hardscape projects, including installation and repair of walkways, pavilions, and walk trails.
- Clear snow from walkways and driveways during winter months.
- Collaborate with team members to complete larger construction or landscaping projects as needed.
- Ensure all work areas are clean and organized after completing tasks.
- Set up fields for sports programs and pre-work for events.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintenance or construction (preferred).
- Familiarity with lawn care practices, including mowing, fertilization, and pest control.
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture, and tree trimming.
- Ability to operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to maintenance work.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions. Physical Abilities
· Manual labor including lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds is expected.
· Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend; reach with hands and arms; use hands to use objects, tools or controls; stand; and walk.
· Occasionally required to sit as well as climb or balance.
· Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
· Must be able to operate mechanical equipment.
· Must have clarity of vision and the ability to adjust focus, judge distance and spatial relationships.
· Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
· Must be able to traverse a typical outdoor construction site.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
