Perform Air International is seeking a wire harness technician. Individuals selected will repair wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials binding wires or cables to form wire harnesses used in aircraft electronic and electrical systems and equipment. Individuals in this position Operate tools and equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, soldering irons, wire identification and cutting machines, heat guns, and associated tools. Technicians must be able to locate electrical malfunctions and determine type and amount of rework required to repair each unit. Must be able to test wire harnesses, panels, and aircraft electrical systems for continuity and proper functioning. Follow schematics, drawings, and written or verbal instructions to set up and perform duties. This position requires a high attention to detail, and basic understanding of electrical functions.
The following skills are required:
· Ability to read and follow wire harness assembly instructions
· Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work in an organized manner
· Routes, wires, and assembles electronic components using wire layout boards
· Numerous hand assembly operations based on detailed instructions
· Operate semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers
· Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using test fixtures
· Use of a soldering iron to solder wires to switches or connectors
· Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products
· Wire harness assembly experience highly preferred
