Ocean State Aviation is seeking an organized and dependable Aircraft Deicing Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to support our aircraft deicing operation during the winter season.
This position works from our operations office and serves as the central coordination point for daily deicing activities. The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating deicing requests, communicating with airline customers and field personnel, and assigning available deicing trucks and crews to aircraft throughout the shift.
This is a fast-paced operational position requiring strong communication, organization, situational awareness, and the ability to manage changing priorities. During active weather events, the Dispatcher may be coordinating multiple aircraft, customers, trucks, and crews simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily aircraft deicing operations.
- Review flight schedules, weather conditions, staffing, and available equipment to anticipate operational needs.
- Receive and track aircraft deicing requests from airline customers and operational personnel.
- Dispatch deicing trucks and crews to assigned aircraft and gates.
- Prioritize and balance multiple aircraft requests based on departure schedules, customer needs, and available resources.
- Maintain real-time awareness of truck locations, crew assignments, active deicing operations, and outstanding service requests.
- Communicate with airline customers, supervisors, deicing crews, and aircraft when necessary.
- Provide customers with updates regarding truck assignments, service status, and anticipated delays.
- Adjust truck and crew assignments as flight schedules, weather, or operational conditions change.
- Maintain accurate records of deicing services performed.
- Ensure required service information, including aircraft, flight, gate, truck, fluid usage, and service times, is properly documented.
- Review completed deicing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain an operational log of significant events, delays, equipment issues, and service activity.
- Immediately communicate staffing, equipment, or operational concerns to supervisors and management.
- Assist with end-of-shift reporting and reconciliation of deicing activity.

Previous experience in airport operations, airline ground handling, dispatch, aircraft deicing, ramp operations, logistics, or transportation coordination is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Schedule
This is a seasonal winter operations position. Candidates must have schedule flexibility during the deicing season, including availability for:
- Early mornings
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Snow and winter weather events
- Extended shifts during significant weather events when operationally necessary
Deicing activity is weather-dependent, and schedules may change based on forecast conditions and airline operational requirements.
Work Environment
This position is primarily performed from an operations/dispatch office but requires continuous communication with personnel working on the airport ramp.
The Dispatcher plays an important role in keeping the entire deicing operation organized, efficient, properly documented, and responsive to our airline customers.

Ocean State Aviation will provide training on our deicing procedures, equipment, documentation requirements, airport operations, and dispatch processes.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
