Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical-surgical, geriatrics, or emergency medicine, and will be committed to delivering high-quality care to individuals in need. This role requires a strong understanding of patient needs and the ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings including clinics, hospitals (Level I and Level II Trauma Centers), and specialized units such as PICU.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, geriatrics, inpatient care, and emergency medicine is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
