Key Project Requirements:
- Experience operating and maintaining simple cycle gas turbine power plants, preferably GE LM5000 or other GE LM series gas turbines (LM2500, LM6000, etc.).
- Ability to safely operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain power plant equipment while supporting reliable plant operations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems within a power generation facility.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Plant Operator to support the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of a simple cycle gas turbine power plant in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. This individual will be responsible for operating plant equipment from the control room and in the field, performing routine inspections and maintenance, responding to equipment issues, supporting plant startups and shutdowns, and ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently. Candidates with experience on GE LM series gas turbines are highly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and control plant systems from both the control room and field to maintain safe and reliable operations.
- Perform plant startups, shutdowns, equipment lineups, and respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with plant operating conditions to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and PPE requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Experience operating and maintaining gas turbine power generation facilities.
- Experience with GE LM series gas turbines strongly preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot plant equipment and interpret operating procedures and technical documentation.
- Strong computer, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to plant call-outs as required.
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Approximately 2+ years of power plant operations and maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with simple cycle gas turbine facilities is strongly preferred.
