Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this vital role, you will develop and implement tailored instructional plans that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help create an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Duties
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with individual education programs (IEPs) and curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, and behavioral health
- Assess students’ progress regularly through standardized testing, formative assessments, and behavioral observations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support student development
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies
- Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to accommodate students with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, or other special needs
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral interventions in compliance with district policies
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages social skills development, mentoring, and early childhood education principles
Experience
- Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities in a special education setting or related environment
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, early intervention strategies, and literacy education techniques
- Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, and behavior management plans
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and specialists
- Demonstrated ability to adapt lesson plans for students with varying disabilities such as autism or hearing impairments
